
Mr C K Cheung, Secretary-General of IAACA, participated in the G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group (ACWG) Meeting in Cape Town, South Africa, from 3 to 5 March 2025. This significant event provided a platform for Mr Cheung to highlight IAACA’s ongoing efforts in supporting its members in the prevention and combatting of corruption.

During the meeting, Mr Cheung engaged with vice-presidents, executive members of IAACA, and senior delegates from various G20 members, fostering discussions on possible future collaborations.



The G20 ACWG 2025, co-chaired by South Africa and Brazil, aimed to address crucial goals, including:
- Strengthening the Public Sector: Promoting transparency, integrity, and accountability.
- Enhancing Asset Recovery Measures: Increasing efficiency in asset recovery processes.
- Encouraging Inclusive Participation: Engaging public and private sectors, civil society, and academia in anti-corruption efforts.
- Improving Whistle-blower Protection Mechanisms: Ensuring better safeguards for those who report corruption.
