IAACA has been admitted as an observer to the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE Network) at its Fifth Plenary Meeting in Beijing, China, on 25 September 2024. đ
In his address to the Plenary Meeting, Mr Danny Y M Woo, President of IAACA and Commissioner of ICAC, Hong Kong, China, highlighted the shared mission of IAACA and the GlobE Network to support anti-corruption authorities worldwide, and called for closer collaboration and greater synergies between the two organizations and their member agencies in the fight against corruption.
Established in 2021, the GlobE Network facilitates direct and informal cooperation among anti-corruption law enforcement authorities to prevent and combat corruption with the support of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
At the Plenary Meeting, participants adopted the âBeijing Consensusâ to strengthen international law enforcement co-operation in graft-fighting and denying safe haven for corruption. Delivering a speech on âFostering global anti-corruption partnershipâ at its High Level Forum, Mr Woo said, âThe adoption of the âBeijing Consensusâ marks a new era of collaborative efforts against corruption and provides guidance to anti-corruption agencies worldwide to sustain our commitment and intensify our efforts to strengthen international law enforcement co-operation.â
During the GlobE Network meetings, Mr. Woo and his colleagues engaged with senior delegates from the UNODC, the International Anti-Corruption Academy, and anti-corruption authorities worldwide to exchange initiatives and explore future collaborations.
IAACA will leverage its unique strengths in partnership with the GlobE Network to advance global anti-corruption efforts. Additionally, IAACA will continue to expand its network and seek collaborations with international and regional partners.
