One year ago, IAACA took a significant step forward with the adoption of the “Hong Kong Declaration on Strengthening International Cooperation in Preventing and Fighting Corruption” during the 8th ICAC Symposium and the 11th IAACA Annual Conference held in Hong Kong, China. Today, we proudly celebrate the incredible progress we have made together in our fight against corruption!
Over the past year, our members have focused on the areas outlined in the Declaration:
- We have made significant advancements in international cooperation to combat corruption
- We have assisted other jurisdictions in enhancing their anti-corruption capacity and have shared our best practices and knowledge through training sessions, exchanges, and international conferences
- We have engaged different sectors of society in fighting corruption and raising public awareness of its adverse impact. We have also integrated integrity values into education curricular and involved the youth in anti-corruption work
- We have adopted cutting-edge tools and methods in preventive and law enforcement efforts
As we reflect on our journey, let’s recommit to the principles of the Hong Kong Declaration. Thank you for being part of this important movement. Together, we can continue to promote transparency and integrity in all sectors.
