BACKGROUND

Integrity in sports is paramount, as sports unite people through shared passion and values, transcending cultural and geographical boundaries. However, increasing threats from corruption - such as match-fixing, competition manipulation, and financial misconduct - undermine fair competition and the credibility of sports.

This webinar brings together distinguished speakers from the International Anti-Corruption Academy, the International Olympic Committee, and the Office of the Comptroller General, Brazil to address critical issues surrounding integrity in sports, including ethics, governance, corruption prevention measures, and the role of stakeholders in fostering a fair and transparent sporting environment.

OBJECTIVES

This webinar will explore critical issues and anti-corruption efforts in sports integrity, with the following key objectives:

  • Understanding current challenges and ethical issues related to corruption in sports, including its broader impact;

  • Examining effective risk management strategies, corruption prevention measures, and investigation skills to combat corruption in the sports sector; and

  • Strengthening international cooperation and aligning anti-corruption initiatives across borders to safeguard sports integrity.
