IAACA continues to actively engage in key international events, sharing insights in fighting corruption and strengthening its presence in the global community. Here are the highlights for the past months:

GlobE Network Plenary Meeting in Azerbaijan

From 20 to 23 May 2025, Mr C K Cheung, Secretary-General of IAACA and Assistant Director of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of Hong Kong, China, participated in the Plenary Meeting of the UNODC’s Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE Network) in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Mr Cheung shared with nearly 340 representatives from over 100 countries and international organizations IAACA's accomplishments, particularly the achievements of our members under the “Hong Kong Declaration on Strengthening International Cooperation in Preventing and Fighting Corruption ”. He also outlined IAACA's future strategies, reaffirming IAACA's dedication to promoting international collaboration in the global fight against corruption. Additionally, Mr Cheung had exchanges with senior delegates from anti-corruption authorities to explore opportunities for future collaboration.

As an observer of the GlobE Network, IAACA is committed to combine its unique strengths with the GlobE Network to further global anti-corruption efforts.

Saudi-Maldives International Forum on Integrity

IAACA took part in the Forum held in the Maldives on 6-7 May 2025. Represented by Mr Ricky Lai, Assistant Director of Hong Kong ICAC, IAACA joined an insightful dialogue alongside over 30 anti-corruption agencies from Organisation of Islamic Cooperation member states.

The Forum provided a deep dive into the latest research, best practices, and innovative strategies for reinforcing anti-graft efforts in the tourism industry.

During the event, Mr Lai underscored IAACA’s vital role in fostering international cooperation to combat corruption. He also shared Hong Kong’s corruption prevention experiences in the tourism sector, offering key insights to support integrity-driven tourism worldwide.

Southeast Asia Anti-Corruption Conference

Mr Wong Wai-kit, Assistant Director of Hong Kong ICAC, represented IAACA at this event organized by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in Putrajaya, Malaysia on 29 April 2025.

Mr Wong shared how the tripartite partnership among IAACA, ICAC Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong International Academy Against Corruption has been working with other counterparts to strengthen anti-corruption efforts to address increasingly complex challenges. The conference was a vibrant hub of discussion, with our Southeast Asia counterparts exchanging valuable insights and strategies to combat and prevent corruption.
